Students Interested in Gerontology

AGHE is a unique network of over 150 institutions of higher education and organizations dedicated to advancing gerontology as a field of study. If the school you attend is a member of AGHE, you are eligible for member benefits. Over 2,000 faculty, administrators, researchers, and students receive AGHE’s mailings and are involved in AGHE activities. AGHE offers special opportunities and resources designed especially for students.

AGHE’s Resources  

Resources are available for:

               - Identifying existing programs in gerontology

               - Providing information about careers in aging and educational paths

               - Developing a gerontology program

               - For employment opportunities visit www.agework.com. This GSA web site provides funding opportunities and job
                 listings for researchers interested in aging. Agework also provides links to volunteer opportunities, federal jobs, U.S.
                 government reports and other government web sites

               - Sigma Phi Omega is the National Honor Society formed in 1980 to recognize the excellence of those who study
                 gerontology/aging as well as of the professional aging service personnel. SPO seeks to promote scholarship,
                 professionalism, friendship, and services to older persons, and to recognize exemplary attainment in
                 gerontology/aging studies and related fields

AGHE Student Committee

The Student Committee is open to all students studying gerontology and geriatrics. They work to promote professional opportunities and foster involvement in the Association.
