Hi Students,

Hopefully you all have taken some time (or have plans) to relax during the summer months. The AGHE Student Committee wanted to share some brief updates to round out the month of June.

1. The International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (IAGG) World Congress is quickly approaching! For those of you attending, be sure to check out some of the student events coordinated by our colleagues from GSA’s Emerging Scholar and Professional Organization (ESPO) and the IAGG Council of Student Organizations (CSO).

2. AGHE President Nina Silverstein would like to share the following post-doctoral fellow opportunity with everyone:
One post-doctoral research fellow positon is open at the New York University Rory Meyers College of Nursing. This individual will work with the team of Dr. Bei Wu, Dean’s Professor in Global Health, Co-Director at NYU Aging Incubator.

Job Responsibility:
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team on population-based projects pertaining to aging and global health. There are opportunities for presentations, authorship of research manuscripts, mentorship support, and career development arising from this work. The research includes both epidemiology and intervention studies.

Qualifications:
        - Doctoral degree in gerontology, nursing, public health, or other related disciplines
        - Experience in manuscript preparations, publications, and grant proposals
        - Strong ability in analyzing large epidemiological data and familiarity with longitudinal methods
        - Self-motivated, detail-oriented, responsible, and team-oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
          and the ability to synthesize literature
        - Experience applying statistical methods to social behavioral data, familiarity with aging and global health literature,
          demonstrate enthusiasm for innovative methods
        - Experience with international research preferred
