Celebrate Careers in Aging Week (CIAW) April 1 to 7, 2018

People are living longer and populations are aging worldwide. The demand for professionals with expertise in aging is growing rapidly. Careers in Aging Week (CIAW) is observed annually during the first full week of April by businesses, clinics, coalitions, organizations, universities, colleges, and other parties across the world. The goal of CIAW is to bring greater awareness and visibility to the wide-ranging career opportunities in the field of aging.

How Can You Get Involved? Get Social!

Here are 3 easy ways that you and your friends can help spread the word:

  1. Save the date for Thunderclap — this crowdspeaking platform lets us be heard by mass-sharing a single message flashmob style. Sign up and the Thunderclap will post a CIAW tweet from your account (no passwords are shared) on Monday, April 2, at Noon EDT. The tweet: “Let’s try out new ideas and innovative approaches to improve how our society supports older people and responds to aging. Learn about a growing field during #CIAW

  3. Participate in the GSA webinar: Non-Academic Careers in Aging. On Friday, April 6, at Noon EDT, emerging scholars and experts will discuss how to approach searching for jobs in the field of aging. Register now.
